Benidorm – Package Holiday

I’ve been convinced to take a package holiday. I wasn’t enthused – I dislike crowds and tourists.

I was mistaken – Lena and I got five nights in a decent hotel in Benidorm, including transfers, flights and ten meals, for about £240 a person. I was worried the city would be full of stag parties, but in February it’s 99% retired Spanish couples. We were to youngest people in the breakfast bar by about 30 years.

It’s a good city for a short break. We hiked up a big rock, I went for a cycle and found Dinosaurs, we took a day trip to Valencia, and we found a museum of tiny things in Guadalest. It wasn’t sunbathing weather, but 18 degrees is better than sub-zero in the UK.
